You may not have spent any time in the Texas Wine Country yet, but once you have, you’ll do everything you can to stay permanently. That’s the way it typically happens here. Discover this naturally beautiful, conveniently located area, where Hill Country splendor surrounds unique wineries and the economy is as bright as the smiles of those who live here, and you’ll be looking for reasons to buy land and reasons to move to the Texas Wine Country.

Easy access to wine tasting

You know what’s better than being aware of the 46 unique wineries of the Texas Wine Trail? Being able to enjoy them whenever you want. Great accessibility to the wineries from key points in the Hill Country—like Dry Comal Creek Winery, which is directly across the street from Vintage Oaks in New Braunfels, the fastest-growing community in the Hill Country—makes visiting easy.

Many of the wineries along the trail, which stretches from Austin to Fredericksburg and Lampasas to New Braunfels, offer free wine tastings in addition to their special events. Also, The Texas Wine Trail holds four special events per year, Texas Wine Month Trail in October, which “includes a full complimentary tasting at each winery with a limit of 4 wineries a day and a 15% discount on 3 bottle purchases at each winery.”

The scenery

Rolling hills, towering oak trees, and sparkling lakes and rivers. The Texas Hill Country offers a truly remarkable landscape. Add in vineyards and the scenic vistas and soothing atmosphere compel you to relax and stay awhile. Living the wine country lifestyle is easier than you think, and it always offers a beautiful view.

The prestige

What used to be a local upstart is now a favorite of wine enthusiasts and experts the world over. Huffington Post called the Texas Wine Country the "New Napa,” noting its “perfect growing conditions” and its position as “the second most visited wine tasting region in North American and top 10 in the world.”

Wine Enthusiast is equally bullish, naming the Texas Hill Country “one of the 10 Best Travel Destinations.” Texas wines have also continued to earn acclaim around the world at prestigious international competitions, most recently taking home 157 medals, including approximately two dozen gold, in the TEXSOM International Wine Awards (TIWA). Texas is now the No. 5 wine-producing state in the country.

Growing area

The burgeoning Texas Wine Country is one of many exciting things going on in the area between Austin and San Antonio. Also known as the I35 Corridor, this peaceful yet convenient and strategic location offers significant advantages for those who want to buy land in the Hill Country, and for businesses coming into the area.

The corridor serves a booming region and is “expected to grow to 6-7 million people by 2030,” said The Greater Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council. That backs up projections that New Braunfels, located right in the center of the Corridor and the Texas Wine Country, will grow another 36 percent in the next 15 years. New Braunfels is the 13th-fastest-growing city in the nation; the city’s growth going back to 2010 has increased by 30 percent.

As cities like New Braunfels and neighboring San Marcos continue to evolve into “economic hubs in their own rights,” said the San Antonio Express-News, companies continue their march into the area. The world’s largest retailer, Amazon, recently announced it will open a facility in San Marcos and hire 1,000 employees and HEB will build a $14 million HEB Plus in New Braunfels.

Communities like Vintage Oaks continue to grow in lockstep with the area. This unique masterplan offers a range of homes and homesites in gated and non-gated areas and an array of resort-style amenities including pools, a lazy river, walking trails, and ball fields.
