Schlitterbahn, Guadalupe and Comal Rivers still the coolest places to be…
Are you planning to celebrate Labor Day in New Braunfels? Whether you enjoy being in the water, listening to authentic Texas music or exploring the surrounding area, New Braunfels offers activities for the whole family!
New Braunfels is gearing up for the yearly rush of visitors anxious to get a vacation or one more getaway weekend in before the summer officially ends. The Guadalupe River below Canyon Dam and the Comal River are still cooling off visitors and river flows below Canyon continue at lazy rates on the Guadalupe where outfitters can direct you to the best places for a cool tube ride. Canyon Lake itself is in the best shape of any Texas lake west of I-35, has multiple boat ramps and marinas open, and has plenty of water for all your favorite boating activities.
“Contrary to the impression you might get from the recent coverage of the upper Guadalupe, the river from Canyon Lake through New Braunfels is flowing,” said Judy Young, Convention & Visitor Bureau Director. “This is one of your last chances to enjoy Schlitterbahn, recently voted one of the best water parks in the nation according to USA Today and of course, there’s all the other great attractions to enjoy when you visit New Braunfels like Gruene Hall, Natural Bridge Caverns and the Wildlife Ranch and all our great restaurants and entertainment venues.”
Schlitterbahn will be open weekends only after Labor Day with the last day September 22 for the season. Texas live music opportunities during August range from Delbert McClinton, Cory Morrow, Cooder Graw and Brandon Ryder to Charlie Robison. Special events include Old Gruene Market Days. Check out the following attractions for more details:
