The San Antonio Spurs start their quest for another NBA title tonight, further shining a spotlight on a city that has increasingly been on the national radar. The Spurs will face off against the Heat in game one of the NBA Finals at 8pm Texas time.
The teams were 1-1 playing each other this season and have a long history of tight play, setting the stage for what many expect will be an epic showdown. The Heat won the NBA title last year, knocking out the Spurs after what Sports Illustrated called “a brutal loss in game seven.” It was the second consecutive win for the heat, and while they look for an elusive three-peat, the Spurs are trying to get back to the top for the first time since 2007. It's no wonder anticipation is high for another great series.

If city pride and national attention are any indication, San Antonio is keyed in for a win. Reaching the NBA Finals is another great piece of news for a city that has been on the national radar for its strong economy, real estate recovery, strong business climate, and great lifestyle potential.

Forbes recently released their 2014 Best Big Cities for Jobs list, and San Antonio was sitting right at the top.The Census Bureau recently released its list of fastest-growing cities in the nation, and San Antonio took the No. 2 spot, second only to San Marcos (not coincidentally, the two cities practically bookend Vintage Oaks, the fastest-growing community in the Texas Hill Country).

Trip Advisor’s 2014 Travelers’ Choice also had San Antonia as the No. 16 top travel destination in the United States.
