New Braunfels' Landa Park celebrates 80th anniversary on April 15

Posted by Vintage Oaks

Landa Park is one of the favorite Hill Country places for relaxation, recreation, and fun for the whole family, and tomorrow the park turns 80 years old with a special anniversary celebration. The New Braunfels Parks Foundation will host Landa Park 80th Anniversary Moonlight Gala at the Dance Slab, with “dancing under the stars to Jazz, Blues and Diamonds, delicious food and drinks by Pavlock’s, a raffle, chance tables and more.” The event starts at 6:30pm, with funds going to the revitalization of the Landa Park Miniature Golf Course.

The mini golf course is just one of many amenities at Landa Park that attract those who live in New Braunfels and surrounding cities. At 51 acres, Landa Park offers a beautiful natural landscape that spotlights the Hill Country’s scenic surroundings and offers a slew of amenities, including:

  • Walking paths
  • A kids’ playground
  • Picnic facilities
  • Nature trails
  • An Olympic-size pool
  • A wading pool
  • A fishing pier
  • A golf course

Visitors can also enjoy two favorite activities in New Braunfels, Landa Park’s miniature train and paddleboats. The Landa Park Railroad is a 24-inch gauge Iron Horse locomotive that travels one and one-half miles through the park on a 15-minute trip. The paddleboats, which are accessible from the Landa Park Boathouse, offer serene jaunts around the lake.

The park also offers favorite events for families all year long, including S’more Campfire Stories, Tour & Hike, and Movies in the Park.
