SPRECHEN SIE FUN? That’s what Wurstfest wants to know. The famous New Braunfels event celebrating Oktoberfest is hosting its 58th annual festival on November 2-11.

“Join us for a unique annual celebration rich in German culture and full of Texas fun! Located near the headwaters of the beautiful Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas," they said. "Here you’ll enjoy good food, music, dancing, exciting carnival rides and games, German, Texan and domestic beer, special events and the finest in Alpine and Bavarian Style Entertainment. It all happens at Wurstfest! The best ten days in sausage history.”

New this year is an expanded opportunity to get in for free. There is no admission cost on:

  • Friday, November 2, 4–7pm
  • Monday, November 5, 5–10pm
  • Tuesday, November 6: 5-10pm
  • Wednesday, November 7: 5-10pm
  • Sunday, November 11: 3-10pm

For the uninitiated, Wurstfest New Braunfels’ 10-day sausage celebration is so beloved that Expedia named it the “top thing to do in Texas.” Yes, there will certainly be plenty of sausages to savor, but that’s only the beginning of what visitors can enjoy. Food booths will offer everything from Shrimp-on-a-Stick to Etouffee to Turkey Legs to Chicken Fried Bacon, with delicious-sounding sweets including German Chocolate Pie, Funnel Cake, German Drop French Donut, and Bread Pudding. And don’t forget about all the beer in the massive Biergarten.

There will also be tons of shopping and a variety of live music on several stages throughout the 10 days, so bring your dancing shoes. You can also bring the kids, because this event is family-friendly, with two carnival areas and the midway, performing arts at the Circle Arts Theatre, and kid-specific activities in Kinderhalle.

Rockin’ R Wurst Wagon is also available to pick up visitors to Wurstfest New Braunfels and take them home—or to a hotel or other accommodations—for a small fee. This great service allows revelers to enjoy themselves without having to worry about parking or driving.
