It's that time of the year again - San Antonio is celebrating Fiesta starting next weekend! From April 18-28, the city will greet millions of visitors to celebrate the rich culture, music and cuisine of the South. With a busy event schedule from 100 participating organizations and vendors, planning for Fiesta can be overwhelming. Here is our Fiesta guide to help you prepare for a total San Antonio immersion:

Parades

Texas Cavaliers River Parade: Monday 4/22 from 07:00 PM - 09:30 PM. This year's parade has the theme Stars On The River. More than 40 festively decorated floats sponsored by local community organizations and military installations drift down the San Antonio River. Tickets are $12-$24.

Battle of Flowers Parade: Friday 4/26 11:30 AM - 04:00 PM. The Battle of Flowers Parade 2013 celebrates world festivals and anniversaries. The Aggie Band will lead the parade again this year. Tickets: $25 for Alamo Grandstands; $15 for Cenotaph Stands, Alamo Street Bleachers North and South and Plaza Bleachers; $12 for Maverick Park and Broadway Bleachers.

Pooch Parade: Saturday 4/27 from 08:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Dress up your dog, costume your kids, decorate your family wagon, wear your sombrero, or just come in your comfy walking shoes and show your Fiesta Spirit! Pre-registration: $20 per person and pooch or $25 per family and all the family dogs. Registration on the day of the event will be $25 and $30.

Fiesta Flambeau Night Parade: Saturday 4/27 07:00 PM - 11:00 PM. The Fiesta Flambeau Parade is one of the largest illuminated parades in the US with an estimated 700,000 spectators along the streets of San Antonio and another 1.5 million in the television viewing audience. The University of Texas Longhorn Band is the premier band that traditionally leads the parade each year. Tickets: $25 for Alamo Grandstands, $20 for Cenotaph stands; $15 for Alamo Street Bleachers-North (Travis/Houston), Alamo Street Bleachers-South (Crockett/Commerce) and Alamo Plaza Bleachers; $12 for Maverick and Broadway Bleachers.

Transportation

Park & Ride: Public transportation is the best way to get around San Antonio during Fiesta. Cost is $2.50 each way or $1.25 each for children 5-11, senior citizens 62 or older and students with a VIA Reduced Fare ID.

By Air: Can't make the road trip? There's still time to book a flight - San Antonio International Airport is only 8 miles, or 15 minutes away from downtown.
