The growing city of New Braunfels is a recreational haven, a scenic wonder, and an incredibly well-located city between Austin and San Antonio in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. But New Braunfels is also a hotspot drawing couples for a night of fun and romance. Here are a few great ideas for a great date night in New Braunfels.

Go wine tasting

Head to Dry Comal Creek Vineyards, just across the street from Vintage Oaks, where you can taste their wines for as little as $5, take a tour for $3 (when added to a full tasting), or take a class at Winery U for $30. Taking a class gives you the opportunity to “taste wines from around the world, from Burgundy to West Texas…and learn about everything from winemaking to food-and-wine pairing.” Head over to their website for a complete list of prices!

Natural Bridge Wildlife Park

It's not exactly a night event (the park closes between 4:30 and 6pm depending on the time of year), but an outing to Natural Bridge Wildlife Park makes for a great time. Take a drive through the park to see exotic animals including kangaroos, ostriches, and zebras, for only $22 for adult general admission.  Tip: get there early in the day for the best chance at feeding the animals. They may not be hungry later in the day.

Gruene Hall

Nothing is as quintessentially date night in New Braunfels as an evening dancing at Gruene Hall. Whether there is a dance class or an artist performing, any night you visit is sure to be the perfect date night. Get there early and have dinner on the river at the Gristmill, and don’t forget to leave in time for a stroll through the historic town. Head over to their website to check out the calendar for upcoming performances and classes.

Discover downtown

Head to New Braunfels Square, stroll the tree-lined streets, window shop for antiques, or catch free live music at Phoenix Saloon. No matter what you choose, it'll be a great night enjoying New Braunfels' more adult activities.

Faust Bridge

Take a bike ride through some truly beautiful natural surroundings and be sure to stop and spend some time at the Faust Bridge. Whether you choose to learn from the historical markers or sit and enjoy the breathtaking views of the the Guadalupe, a stop at the Faust Bridge is something you don’t want to miss.

Act like a kid at Schlitterbahn

From water coasters to river adventures, Schlitterbahn is one of the best things to do in New Braunfels, with or without kids. Purchase an all-day general admission ticket for $50.99 and get ready to enjoy your day in the sun!

Explore Vintage Oaks

Attend an event at Vintage Oaks’ Tuscan-style Clubhouse, with indoor and outdoor gathering areas and a catering kitchen, and you’ll be in the center of never ending natural beauty. Nothing says romance like strolling among rolling hills and majestic oak trees!
