Downtown New Braunfels will be hopping tonight during Wassailfest

Nothing beats the holidays in New Braunfels, and a season of special events takes a festive—and tasty—turn tonight. Head to downtown New Braunfels for the 23rd annual Wassailfest tonight, Thursday, Dec. 4, from 6 to 9pm, to enjoy food, fun, live music, great shopping opportunities, and numerous versions of Wassail, all within a historic environment decorated with a symphony of holiday lights. 

This favorite New Braunfels event is attended by thousands of Hill Country residents and visitors every year who come out to spread holiday cheer and enjoy the unique atmosphere. The event kicks off with a traditional toast at 6pm, after which revelers are able to sample the many different versions of Wassail and vote on their favorite. Ballot boxes are located throughout downtown New Braunfels to accept votes for the favorite sip of Wassail and determine the People's Choice winner. The event’s Wassail-Meisters will also choose their favorite. Many of downtown New Braunfels shops’ will be open for browsing and purchasing holiday gifts during Wassailfest, and handmade gifts from local artisans will also be offered for sale. Several food vendors will also be serving up delicious treats, so bring your appetite!

Holidays In Gruene
Saturday, Dec. 5, 10am
The 14th Annual Gruene Pony Express Ride includes relay riders taking Christmas greetings from the Governor of Texas from a temporary post office set up next to Gruene Outfitters. Christmas cards can be stamped with the 2015 commemorative stamp.

Gruene Town Lighting
Saturday, Dec. 5, 5–6:30
Stick around Gruene for the town lighting as Cowboy Kringle rides in on horseback and lights it up for the Holidays. Guests will enjoy live music and food and wine, and the ships will be open for holiday gifts.

35th Annual Caroling on the Plaza
Friday, Dec. 11, 6:30–8pm
What could be more festive than caroling? Caroling on the square in New Braunfels, from The Greater New Braunfels Arts Council.

Canyon Lake Christmas Parade
Saturday, Dec. 12, 11am to 1pm
The biggest Christmas parade in Comal County is 1.5 miles of fun and festivities with marching bands, antique cars, hot rods, horses, a Commemorative Air Force Flyover, and Santa’s arrival.
