East Ranch Loop Walking Trail at Vintage Oaks (2)

Whether they’re being used for walking, running, biking, or simply as a means to get some fresh air while enjoying the gorgeous Hill Country surroundings, Vintage Oaks’ trail system is beloved by owners. Now this valuable amenity has become even more so with the opening of the East Ranch Loop Trail.

This loop has added two more miles of maintained trails in the community, bringing the total to five.

“Creating a mix of amenities that provides opportunities for recreation, entertainment, and enjoyment for all ages and interests has always been our goal at Vintage Oaks,” said Thad Rutherford, President of SouthStar Communities, developer of Vintage Oaks. “Owners in the community love the pools, the lazy river, all the sport courts and fields, and the Tuscan Clubhouse, and we hear over and over how much they love the trail system. We listen to our owners and are proud to be able to respond to their requests in continuing to expand on what was already the most complete amenity package in the Hill Country with these new trails.”

Some studies show walking trails actually rank near the top of the list of most-wanted amenities, right behind park space, which is also abundant at Vintage Oaks.

“According to a study by real estate advising company Robert Charles Lesser & Co., homebuyers are increasingly looking for green space and trail systems for walking, running and biking,” said NewHomeSource. “In fact, green space and trail systems were the No. 1 and No. 2 desirable community features.”

The East Ranch Loop Trail spans open meadows and gently sloping topography, creating an easy-to-moderate hike, and has been fabricated with a cushioned hard surface—recycled asphalt, to be exact—to provide comfort underfoot and also promote durability. The trail was also designed and sited and in such a way as to preserve and highlight the natural terrain. Jim Vater, Vice President of Land Development for SouthStar Communities, notes that the Loop showcases some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Vintage Oaks, with groves of heritage oak trees and elevated views spanning the Hill Country.

For more information about the community, the amenities, or the land and homes for sale, visit Vintage Oaks, a 3,900-acre community in New Braunfels right on the Texas Wine Trail with easy access to San Antonio, Austin, and Houston, and highly rated schools. The community offers 1–14 acre homesites from the $80s including newly released properties in The Bluffs, which feature high-elevation homesites with long Hill Country views from the $90s, and homes from the low $400s.

The Vintage Oaks Clubhouse hosts many of the community’s events and activities, and the new 7,800-square-foot fitness club is another hotspot, with cardio and weight equipment, an outdoor fitness area, personal training areas, an age-restricted pool, saunas, and an outdoor spa. Vintage Oaks is also the fastest-selling community in the Hill Country for five years.
