More than 100 fitness classes per month. Certified personal trainers. Indoor and outdoor workout areas. They’re just a few of the features members are loving about the Vintage Oaks Fitness Club. The special events are yet another way owners in the community are getting fit and having fun, and their next opportunity is at the Heart and Sole 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run at the Fitness Club on Saturday, Feb. 22.

This is an all-ages event. Race time is 8:30am, and participants are asked to meet at the Fitness Club at 8am.

Additional events tied to the Fitness Club have included a nutritional workshop, and, most recently, Family Fit in the Park, a one-hour Saturday morning workout for all ages taught by club instructors that was so well-attended, another one is in the planning stages. The workout included a total body warmup, cardio and body weight training, and a relaxing stretch to close it out, plus special fitness-related kids’ activities.

“This is one way we are trying to get the community as a whole involved in creating a healthier lifestyle,” said Fitness Club Coordinator, Dottie LeBlanc. “Fun events like this allow for residents to meet each other in a different atmosphere, creating a very different sense of community. All of the instructors are working together to come up with more events like this where we can bridge the gap and bring together all ages. Making health and wellness fun is our goal.”

The 7,800-square-foot Vintage Oaks Fitness Club also offers residents an age-restricted pool, cardio and weight equipment; indoor and outdoor classroom space; saunas; an outdoor spa; and locker rooms. Popular classes at the club include HIIT, yoga, and water aerobics.
