Veterans Day Events

Posted by Vintage Oaks

With Veterans Day approaching Sunday, November 11, Vintage Oaks reflects on our veteran community and the veterans all across the nation. We ask everyone to join us as we reflect, remember and honor the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. Vintage Oaks is blessed and enriched to be a part of the year-round celebration and appreciation of veterans in our community by teaming up with the non-profit Operation FINALLY HOME.

Operation FINALLY HOME was founded in 2005 with the mission to honor and thank America’s wounded and disabled veterans and the widows of the fallen. Severely wounded and disabled service members return home to confront extreme hardships, from physical and emotional disabilities to financial issues, joblessness and homelessness. Operation FINALLY HOME addresses the most pressing need of our returning heroes by providing a mortgage-free home to call their own!

With the help of Operation FINALLY HOME Vintage Oaks has helped provide the Read and Malarsie families with new custom-built, mortgage-free homes. Welcoming them into our community has been one of the most rewarding opportunities.

Looking for ways you can honor veterans in the New Braunfels area? Check out the following activities going on in New Braunfels and San Antonio this weekend:

  • New Braunfels ISD hosts various veterans appreciation ceremonies. Start times are listed here.
  • American Legion Memorial Highway Post 352 is hosting a Veterans Parade on November 13 at 10am. Vets and all other participants are welcome. After the parade, join everyone in Bindseil Park on the Blanco Square for a chuck wagon chili and beans lunch benefitting the American Legion post. Check out Hill Country Current for more information.

We wish you a wonderful and safe Veterans weekend, and we thank those who have fought and are fighting for our freedom.
