Residents of Vintage Oaks can enjoy many events at the Dry Comal Creek Vineyard throughout the year. The 11th Annual Grape Stomp is one example. Wine stomping is used in traditional winemaking as a method of maceration.

The Grape Stomp will occur the first three Saturdays in August (3rd, 10th and 17th). Any two adults can participant in the wine stomp. The stomping starts at 11:30 a.m. but arrive early to pre-register and get your assigned flight and barrel number. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m.

During the Grape Stomp, one adult will “stomp” the grapes and the other will “collect” the grapes. The couple producing the most fruit in the allotted time wins. The winning couple will receive a prize and inclusion of their names on a permanent plaque displayed proudly in the Tasting Room.

In addition to participating in the Grape Stomp, each couple will also receive a hearty lunch of sandwiches, salad and dessert, two keepsake glasses, two drink tickets, two t-shirts and a stompin’ good time! Each participant’s name will be printed on the label of the 2013 “Foot Pressed” red table wine.

Register for the Grape Stomp on Dry Comal Creek’s Grape Stomp page.
