The Greatest Light Display in Texas
Open until January 1
Santa’s Ranch attracts revelers from all over Texas, who come to see the 1.5 million lights featuring “lit up gingerbread houses, nativity scenes, and depictions of the North Pole.” There are also holiday treats including homemade kettle corn, hot cocoa, and roasted pecans.
2017 Comal Cops For Kids Gruene Turkey Trot
This 5k run/walk through the Gruene Historic District is hosted by the non-profit Comal Cops for Kids Foundation and ends in front of Gruene Hall. Bring the kids (12 and under) so they can chase a Turkey Mascot on a ¼-mile run through Gruene!

Gruene’s own unique brand of Santa makes his annual appearance on several weekends, offering festive pictures with the kids (or pets).
New Braunfels Conservation Plaza
Celebrate the city’s heritage with German-inspired food and drinks plus toys, books, Christmas ornaments, festive music, and dancing.
Christmas at the Caverns
Natural Bridge Caverns
Natural Bridge Caverns transforms into a holiday wonderland in December, with events and activities including: Caroling in the Caverns; The AMAZEn’ Reindeer Roundup Christmas maze; a Christmas Hayride; the Canopy Challenge & Flying Elf Ziplines; and a Christmas Village with shopping, “special holiday food and drinks, and a family photo op in front of the 30-foot tall decorated Christmas tree.”
Gruene Town Lighting
Gruene Historic District
Watch as Cowboy Kringle gallops into town to turn on the holiday lights in Gruene. You’ll also enjoy live music and food and wine for purchase.

Come to downtown for “music, singing, fellowship and candle lighting,” they said. “It's a gorgeous event and we need you to make it extra special. Come sing with us!!”Gruene Pony Express Ride

“Gruene Historic District will receive Pony Express riders from the Heritage Trail Ride Association of New Braunfels at 10am. Relay riders carry a ‘Christmas Greetings’ message from the Governor of Texas.

“It's an evening of music, fun food, great shopping, thousands of twinkling holiday lights and, of course—lots of free wassail for you to sample,” said the City of New Braunfels.

It was such a hit last year that it’s back again! The Hometown Holiday Christmas Parade is a great way to enjoy New Braunfels’ community spirit.
