New Braunfels is a great place to live. That’s the message being sent by Texas real estate buyers, who continue to make their move to this desirable city. Real estate data from December continues to reflect the strength of the New Braunfels real estate market.

New Braunfels Real Estate Market—December 2015

December is, traditionally, one of the slowest times for real estate sales nationwide. Yet New Braunfels real estate continued to post impressive numbers, with 120 homes sold during the month, up 4% from December 2014. Active listings and median home prices were also up, while the number of days a home stayed on the market were down over the same period one year ago.

  • Median Home Price—$212,500, Up 11% from December 2014
  • Number of active listings—Up 47% from December 2014
  • Days on market—62, down from 77 in December 2014
  • Months of inventory—4.0

Continued growth

The 13th fastest-growing city in the nation, New Braunfels continues to expand—it’s expected to grow another 36.47% the next 15 years. The city logged 4.7% growth in the past 12 months alone and was the No. 6 fastest-growing city in all of Texas for 2015. A large reason why: a thriving New Braunfels job market, which only continues to grow. The city added more than 2,000 jobs last year, and already earmarked for this year are:

  • Hundreds of new jobs at the new HEB Plus, currently under construction
  • Hundreds of new jobs with Canadian-based CGT U.S. Limited constructing a new $80 million manufacturing facility
  • More than a thousand new jobs at Amazon’s new manufacturing facility being built in neighboring San Marcos
