Looking for something great to do in New Braunfels? The city offers water fun at Schlitterbahn to tubing on one of the rivers to strolling the quaint downtown square. The new Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theater has brought another unique amenity to an area that is already chock full of fun.

The Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theater is the second location in Texas; the first opened in 2003 in Lubbock by a family with a long history enjoying the drive-in.

“Our drive-in story goes all the way back to 1948 when my grandfather started the Sky-Vue Drive-In Theatre in Lamesa, TX,” said owner Ryan Smith. “While experiencing my first drive-in movie at the Sky-Vue in June of 2002, I felt a calling to share this slice of Americana. In January of 2003 we purchased a Lubbock cotton farm, and on August 21st Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theatre started showing double features and serving Rockin' Eats. We consider it an honor to help reclaim this unique part of American history and to serve you a better way to watch a movie. Whether you want to load up the family wagon, hang out with friends, or plan a date under the stars, we invite you to enjoy making lasting memories with us. See you at the drive-in!”

Open year-round, the all-digital, three-screen theater shows the latest releases as double features and serves food from its on-site restaurant, Rockin' Eats & Tasty Treats. This ‘50s-style café prepares burgers and sandwiches, pizza, chicken wings, nachos, box dinners, and, of course, popcorn. The Stars & Stripes Drive-In Theater is located at 1178 Kroesche Lane east of I-35 in New Braunfels.

The drive-in theater is the latest reason to love living in New Braunfels. One of the fastest-growing cities in the nation, New Braunfels combines an excellent location between Austin and San Antonio on the Texas Wine Trail with breathtaking Hill Country scenery, acclaimed schools, a wealth of entertainment, recreational, cultural, dining and shopping opportunities, a warm and welcoming lifestyle, and an abundance of land and home options.

Small-town charm and big-city convenience with easy access to services attract buyers ranging from families to veterans to retirees, many of whom choose to live at Vintage Oaks, the fastest-growing community in the Texas Hill Country.
