When spring flowers arrive in the Hill Country, it makes the famous scenery even more spectacular. Now is the perfect time to explore, so we’ve gathered together all the spots you’ll want to visit to see bluebonnets in the Hill Country, with an assist from Bluebonnetlove.com.

Turkey Bend

Turkey Bend Recreation Area on Lake Travis is a favorite spot for swimming, fishing, hiking and stargazing. In the spring, it’s also a great spot to see bluebonnets. Bluebonnets.com heralds their “favorite field” off FM141 east of Marble Falls. “The section between Lago Vista and Marble Falls generally offers good wildflower-viewing spots,” added Texas Highways.

Round Rock

If you’re in the Round Rock area, don’t miss the field of bluebonnets on Dell Way, just south of Hester's Crossing and Mays Street.

Dripping Springs

Reports of a bluebonnet patch at the "Y" at Highway 290 and Highway 71 have been confirmed!

Llano

Llano is this year’s Hill Country bluebonnets winner, with an explosion of color in vibrant blue plus a profusion of Indian Paintbrush. Check out:

Highway 16 starting 10 miles north of Llano all the way to Fredericksburg. Bluebonnet.com says, “all roads leading out of Llano are lined with Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes,” including Highway 29, RR 152, and Highway 71.

Kerrville

If you’re in the area, don’t miss the stretch on I-10 between Kerrville and San Antonio.

Sequin to Georgetown

If you don’t usually drive the toll road, SH 130, you might want to give it a shot. The area between SH 45 and SH 80 near Lockhart is particularly beautiful this year.

Burnet County

The Falkienstein Castle in Burnet is a sight to behold any day, especially if you have the opportunity to attend a wedding (or be married yourself!) there. The lush grounds and drive up to the castle is truly stunning this time of year. Take Park Road 4 south of Inks Lake State Park to check it out.

New Braunfels

New Braunfels is alive with bluebonnets this year. The best places to see them include Loop 337 and Highway 46 between Clear Springs and I35.

While you’re in New Braunfels, swing by Vintage Oaks for more beautiful Texas scenery and a tour of the fastest-growing community in the Hill Country for three straight years.
