The Grape Stomp is a Texas Wine Trail tradition and one of the Hill Country events many people look forward to every year. After all, who wouldn’t want to help make the wine they love drinking so much! Get ready to kick off your shoes and sink into those grapes at the 15th annual Grape Stomp at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards on three consecutive Saturdays, July 29, August 5, and August 12. Dry Comal is a popular and award-winning Texas winery and also happens to be conveniently located just across the street from Vintage Oaks, making it a favorite spot for residents as well as discerning wine lovers from all over the world.
Tickets for each of the three themed weekend events are now on sale and include: live music, a catered lunch, two glasses of wine, one logoed wine glass, and a commemorative t-shirt for each participant. Each team of two will also have its name printed on the label of Dry Comal’s Foot Pressed 2017 Wine. The winery’s 2016 Foot Pressed Red Table Wine just won Double Gold at the 2017 Lone Star International Wine Competition for the first time in history—one of only 12 double gold winners of the prestigious award, out of nearly 600 entries.
Saturday, July 29: Wining Texas Style
New Braunfels Smokehouse will cater lunch, paired with the winery’s Comal Red. Live music will provide a “Texas twist to Hill Country's Soul Sessions,” they said.
Saturday, Aug 5: Passing a Good Time
Come out for this event on the Texas Wine Trail featuring a “Cajun flare to Grape Stomp,” with Cajun on da Geaux providing lunch and French Colombard being poured. Jazz, Blues, and Diamonds will be providing tunes after the stomp.
Saturday, Aug 12: Rockin' and Stompin'
Street tacos from Mi Frijoles Taco Cart and Dry Comal’s award-winning Black Spanish round out the festivities, with live music from New Braunfels’ own Zack Walther Band.
Prizes will go to top finishers in the Grape Stomps and there will also be door prizes, giveaways, and wine specials. Don’t want to get dirty? You can also attend the event as a spectator, and not a participator, enjoying tastings and live music.
